The goal of this design was to create an identity suite for more of an upscale bandana than the typical western aesthetic that is prevalent in that market today. By keeping the lines clean and the typeface & color palette simple and bold, we have avoided being categorized in purely a Texan market. The logo was derived from many tests of folding a bandana to see how best to make it look like a bird, tying it back to the name. The name itself represents the dogs of the family that owns this company. It was also important to the family for everyone to note that these garments are made in the USA. The final logo also lends itself to the company’s growth into markets other than purely bandanas— ultimately, a complete home goods brand.
